On nine occasions in 2020 I got to pick up my cameras and take myself off to a wedding. Normally I might shoot four times that many in a year but given the circumstances I think I did ok! For your viewing pleasure I’ve put together a selection of images from all nine 2020 weddings. Some of these are pre covid (remember that?), some pre lockdown and some mid lockdown when intimate, micro weddings were allowed with limited numbers. Every wedding seemed to be subject to different rules each time, and sometimes we didn’t even know til the week before if they were going ahead, but all my clients did an amazing job of sticking to the rules throughout. What remained the same however is the light and hope they represented to me and everyone else who was able to attend. Parties might have been cancelled but the love and joy was as present as ever.

Q: What did wedding photography in 2020 look like?
A: still pretty cool even covered in masks and hand sanitiser
Thank you to ALL of my clients this year, whether we got to work together or not, for being so patient, so understanding and flexible in what has undoubtedly been the most difficult year for most of us. I’m feeling optimistic that soon I’ll be able to get back to being a wedding photographer – whether it’s macro or micro weddings ahead of us I am very much still here for them and can’t wait to get shooting again!
